SCSI Participant Updates:

The participants were asked to bring the group up to date on their activities in the last year. Time was spent on Monday and Tuesday.

Ann Cutter Ann brought in a physical model of ground water flow and discussed her plans for attempting a simple mathematical model for it.
Jill Harp Jill talked about her experiences at Winston-Salem State in the last year using Stella with students. She also discussed the possible computational science minor.
Erin McNelis Erin talked briefly about her work with the calculus for life sciences course at Clemson, and also about her progress on her model of circadian rhythm.
Clyde Metz Clyde showed his work on incorporating computational chemistry into the curriculum and discussed what tools are appropriate when.
Carolyn Morgan and Morris Morgan Carolyn and Morris discussed using Stella with seniors in the last year, along with their plans for incorporating it as a paradygm in freshman intro to programming courses.
Mitsue Nakamura Mitsue gave an overview on the Houston team's work on mapping interactivate onto the Texas curriculum standards for middle grades.
Donald Plank Don gave an overview of the proposed computational science curriculum being developed for Stockton College.
Sylvia Clark Pulliam Sylvia discussed her plans for working with the Shifflets on more curriculum.
Hugh Sanders Hugh discussed what modeling techniques he has used in his math courses and discussed his next project: developing a plan of attack for teaching math courses for education majors.
Shawn Sendlinger Shawn gave an overview of his use of modeling in chemistry classes.
Bob Tilidetzke Bob gave an overview of the modeling he is incorporating into his math courses for education majors. He handed out several examples of guided worksheets to use with activities from interactivate.
Julian Wilder Julian presented information on his concerns regarding the state of undergraduate science education
